How to Play UNO No Mercy:

The rules are brutal. You can stack draw cards, meaning if someone plays a +4, you can play a +4 to make the next person draw 8! The 7 and 0 rules apply: playing a 7 lets you swap hands with another player, and playing a 0 makes everyone pass their hand to the next player. The game ends when one player gets rid of all their cards, or everyone else is eliminated by the Mercy Rule (25+ cards).

The Ultimate Guide to UNO No Mercy Rules

June 15, 2026

If you thought classic UNO ruined friendships, UNO No Mercy takes it to an entirely new level. This official variant introduces a level of chaos and brutality never before seen in card games.

Here is everything you need to know to survive.

The Elimination Rule (Mercy Rule)

The biggest change from standard UNO is the "Mercy Rule". If a player ever holds 25 or more cards in their hand, they are immediately eliminated from the game! The last player standing wins the match.

The New Wild Cards

No Mercy introduces cards designed purely to cause pain:

  • Wild Draw 6: Exactly what it sounds like. Change the color and force the next player to draw 6 cards.
  • Wild Draw 10: The most feared card in the deck. Force your opponent to draw 10 cards instantly.
  • Wild Color Roulette: Choose a color. The next player must draw cards from the deck until they find a card of that specific color. This can result in drawing 1 card... or 15!

The Stacking Rule

In No Mercy, stacking is legal and encouraged. If someone plays a Draw 2 on you, you can play another Draw 2 on top of it, forcing the next player to draw 4.

You can even stack larger cards on smaller cards! You can place a Wild Draw 4 on top of a Draw 2, forcing the next player to draw 6. However, you cannot place a smaller penalty on a larger penalty (e.g., no Draw 2 on a Draw 4).

7s and 0s

To add even more chaos:

  • Playing a 7 forces you to swap your entire hand with a player of your choice.
  • Playing a 0 forces everyone at the table to pass their hand to the next player in the current direction of play.

Good luck, and remember: show no mercy!
